According to a report from Marca, Real Madrid are looking to block Dani Ceballos’ loan move to Valencia.
The Spanish midfielder is currently out on loan at Arsenal where he hasn’t played since early November. A muscle injury kept him out of action till mid-December and after Mikel Arteta’s appointment, Ceballos has been overlooked in favour of Mesut Ozil.
With the Euros in the summer, Ceballos needs regular playing time to get a spot in Spain’s squad. Reports claimed that he wants to leave the club in search of regular playing time and Valencia emerged as front-runners.
However, Florentino Perez reportedly has no interest in allowing Ceballos to join Los Ches this month. Valencia are still in the Champions League and there is a possibility that the two Spanish sides will face each other there.
Ceballos, should he join Valencia, cannot be stopped from playing against his parent club which is something Real Madrid don’t want. However, the Galacticos haven’t completely ruled this out but they are looking at different avenues.
Real Betis are also reportedly interested in bringing Ceballos back to the club where he came through the ranks.
However, with just four days left in the window, Arsenal are likely to keep hold of him. That would be brilliant for us considering that the Europa League returns in a few weeks and Ceballos would be a real help in the competition that could help us get back into the Champions League.
