One of Unai Emery’s biggest positives as Arsenal boss was the regular chances he gave to our youngsters. Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock really thrived last season under the Spaniard and the same has continued this term.

Emery gave good chances to young Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka at the start of this season. Both players started off their Arsenal careers brilliantly with fine performances in their Europa League debuts.

Their performances haven’t gone unnoticed as UEFA have included Martinelli and Saka in their 50-man list of youngsters to watch in 2020. The two teenagers are joined by some promising names in world football today.

Arsenal are the only club from England to have more than one player

The likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Odsonne Édouard, Ansu Fati, Boubacar Kamara, Boubakary Soumaré and Dominik Szoboszlai have all made the list but Arsenal are one of just two teams in the world to have more than one player present in the list.

Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea and even Barcelona have just one player each which just shows how good our scouting and academy is at the moment.

Martinelli, 18, has played 18 times for us already this season and has eight goals to his name so far. His performances in the Europa League have truly been phenomenal for someone of his age.

The teenager also broke the record for most goals by a Brazilian in Europe after 400 minutes. He surpassed the likes of Kaka, Pato, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Neymar among others to achieve this incredible feat.

Bukayo Saka hasn’t quite been as prolific as Martinelli but has been incredibly useful, especially in recent weeks. Injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac forced both Freddie Ljungberg and now Arteta to use him at left-back. Despite playing in a role that he has never played in before, he adapted really well.

Saka certainly has an incredible future ahead of him, both at Arsenal as well as for England. The youngster will get more game time in the Europa League and in the next round of the FA Cup and if he continues playing in the same way as he has done, he will make a fine name for himself very quickly.
