The draw against Watford caused a ton of backlash against Unai Emery for his strange substitutions in the second half. The Gunners let a two-goal lead slip against bottom-placed Hornets and the performance was simply not good enough.
Emery’s decision to withdraw Mesut Ozil, Dani Ceballos and Matteo Guendouzi eliminated most of the creativity in our side. Watford found a lot of space in the middle and final third and when analysed properly, we should consider ourselves lucky to come away with a point.
Fans began to question how much Unai Emery has improved our squad since taking charge 15 months ago. Failure to qualify for the Champions League combined with the humiliating loss in the Europa League final ruffled quite a few feathers around the club.
The poor start to the season provoked a number of fans to call for Emery’s head but the surprise name called out to replace him was Jose Mourinho. A prime villain for over the last decade, Mourinho and Arsenal have never had a good relationship.
The rivalry between Arsene Wenger and the Portuguese got heated on a number of occasions which got Mourinho a ton of hate from the Emirates faithful. However, with him available, would you take him in place of Emery? The reactions were mixed.
Half of the people didn’t want the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss anywhere near the club while others claimed that they would take him in a heartbeat. Here’s how a number of Gooners reacted to the suggestion of Mourinho replacing Emery:
Wanting Mourinho to replace Emery at Arsenal is like trying to cure a toothache by shooting yourself in the face. How any fan would want him anywhere near the club is beyond me.

If you are an arsenal fan and are seriously wanting us to sack Emery for Mourinho please let me know so I can name and shame you then once that's done to mute you for good.
Imagine seriously wanting that guy in charge, we the hell have your morals gone!!!

I've lost faith in Emery but no way I want Mourinho at my club. No thanks to Benitez too. We need a younger and dynamic coach.

Some fans would genuinley want mourinho😂 the football we play now is bad enough now. Give emery until the end of the season and go for someone like farke, ten hag or nagelsmann. Or if we wanna go for a proven winner allegri

I’m actually ashamed of myself. Emery’s annoyed me so much that I’m convincing myself I’d take Mourinho.
What have I become. This is not a good ebening.

Just saw the EPL Table…
I would give Emery two three games to turn it around (I doubt it).
Get Mourinho IN!

This is 💯% on Emery
* Subbed Cellabos and Özil
* Stupid 'lets build from the back
* Defensive mode when you actually need to finish the game
You could give Emery any replacements but still he won't know how to actually win a game.
Would take Mourinho in a heartbeat.

I’m not Emery out by any stretch of the imagination but I’d take Jose Mourinho in a heartbeat. All the ones who say they wouldn’t are clearly lying 🤣👋🏻
