According to a report from ESPN, Arsenal are interested in signing Wolves’ Raul Jimenez in the summer.
The Mexican international has been Wolves’ most reliable player since the start of last season. Jimenez has 22 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season and is attracting interest from the Gunners as well as our North London rivals Tottenham.

Spurs are in desperate need for a new number nine to compete with Harry Kane. However, Jimenez is unlikely to accept playing second fiddle to the England skipper which makes it easier for Arsenal if we are actually interested.
Do we really need him?
Arsenal don’t quite need another number nine but things could quickly change in the summer. If Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang refuses to extend his contract, it is likely that he will be sold.

Eddie Nketiah being preferred over the Frenchman is a big blow considering that he will enter the final two years of his deal next season.
It is likely that Lacazette will be allowed to leave the Gunners should Aubameyang extend his deal. Jimenez could come in and play through the middle with Auba on the left which makes Arsenal attack incredibly strong.
However, the Mexican is a big part of Wolves’ incredible project and it would take a mammoth fee to convince Nuno Santo’s side to part ways with him.
Arsenal’s priority at the moment is to extend Aubameyang’s contract. If we do so, splashing the big bucks on Jimenez over a centre-half would be unnecessary.
